Man jailed for six years over 'cruel' £4m UCIS scam

Another person has been jailed for his role in running a "subtle and cruel" unauthorised collective investment scheme (UCIS) which lost investors a total of £4.3m.

Adam Hawkins was sentenced to six years and nine months in prison following his conviction at Southwark Crown Court in May. He was part of an operation running a UCIS through three land banking companies, which lost 110 investors a combined £4.3m. Hawkins worked as a salesman and was involved in managing Plott UK, European Property Investments and Stirling Alexander Limited between July 2008 and November 2011.
