Warning advisers are operating 'blind' in FX market

Financial advisers are recommending foreign exchange (FX) providers without knowing how much their clients will be charged, according to an industry expert.

Helen Scott, managing director of ‘straight talking' foreign exchange broker Eris FX, is lobbying ministers and regulators to force currency providers to provide clear, upfront information. Currently FX providers price customers based on their perceived value or negotiating skills, she said. "The big problem with foreign exchange is that many currency companies don't publish their real customer dealing rates," said Scott.
