Action Fraud U-turns on CAB 'financial advice' note

Action Fraud, the UK's national fraud reporting centre, has said it will change the wording of future communications to the public after concerns about a newsletter incorrectly stating people can get financial "advice" from the Citizens Advice Bureaux (CAB).

CAB will provide face to face guidance - but not regulated advice - to those approaching retirement as part of the government's guidance guarantee to help retirees deal with the liberalisation of pensions coming into force in April. But a note sent by Action Fraud earlier this month to members of Neighbourhood Watch organisations across the country stated those unsure of what to do if approached about investing their pension in a potentially fraudulent scheme should, "seek financial advice from the Citizens Advice Bureau, who work alongside the Treasury delivering the 'Pension Wise' serv...
