Zurich UK Life profits up 6% as new business soars

Zurich UK Life has reported operating profits of £115m in 2014, up 6% on the previous 12 months.

New business was valued at £125m, an increase of 17%. It said the increase was driven largely by its corporate business as well as continued growth on its retail platform. However, new business margins stood at 13.6%, which is lower than the previous year by 2.8 percentage points.
