Pension Wise undergoing pre-launch tests to brace for 'demand surges'

The new Pension Wise service is being tested ahead of launch to ensure it meets any potential demand surges, according to pensions minister Steve Webb.

The service is to be soft launched next month to test user reaction and gauge capacity. While the telephone and face to face guidance service opens for business on 6 April it is expected a small number of people will be invited to take part in guidance sessions once the plans receive Royal Assent. "We wouldn't be able to do this for tens of thousands of people but we could do it for some people," he said. "It will be useful to know how it will work as early on as possible.
