Webb: Too many providers still stuck in old ways

There are still too many people in financial services who think they can "keep their customers where they want them" by quietly carrying on with old-style practices, Pensions minister Steve Webb has said.

Webb (pictured) said he saw a "diversity" in the pension provider space, which meant some firms were "getting it" whereas others were keeping their heads down, treating customers the way they always did and thinking "no one will notice". The minister's comments came in response to Dispatches:How to Blow Your Pension reporter Michael Buerk's concerns customers were still issued with confusing information packs, which were designed to lead people towards buying annuities.
