Aberdeen UK Platform Awards raises £30k for Mind

Attendees of the Aberdeen UK Platform Awards 2014 have been praised for their generosity after a record £30,000 was raised for mental health charity Mind.

Advisers, providers and other stakeholders opened their chequebooks after hearing a moving speech from Tom Rowland (pictured), a management consultant at Deloitte, who relayed his experiences. The amount raised on the night was matched by Aberdeen Asset Management, taking the total to £30,170, a record for the awards. For 2010, a total of £14k was raised, followed, in subsequent years, by £23k (2011); £27k (2012); and £21k (2013). Organiser Clive Waller said: "The generosity of the platform community is amazing. As is the generosity of Aberdeen in matching."
