Confusion over the government guidance guarantee should be urgently addressed as the majority of people think ‘guidance' and ‘advice' are the same thing, according to website unbiased.
A poll from the website found a fifth of people want a meeting with a professional financial adviser to be included in the guidance guarantee. It said the Treasury should address the confusion surrounding the guarantee. It said the research clearly showed consumers are attributing characteristics of regulated financial advice to their understanding of what guidance guarantee means.
