Lighthouse CEO Streatfield: Young clients hold the key to a firm's value

Advisers who embrace young clients despite their lack of wealth are building the foundation for a more valuable business, Lighthouse chief executive Malcom Streatfield has said.

Speaking at a Distribution Technology conference in London yesterday, Streatfield (pictured) said it is both part of the original purpose of financial advisers and a shrewd business decision to help younger people who are often neglected by firms before they are in a position to invest. "We need to step back and ask ‘What do we exist for?' It's helping people who are starting out on their financial life. We are ignoring a huge trance of people who deserve financial advice," he said.
