In this week's video interview for Professional Adviser's Investment Influencers series, where editorial director Lawrence Gosling chats with the most respected individuals who select funds, decide ratings or otherwise influence the allocation of investor fund flows, we hear from Enrique Pardo of Allfunds Bank.
Pardo has been global director of investment research at Allfunds Bank since February 2012, having initially joined the company in September 2008 as chief investment officer of Allfunds Alternative.
He began his professional career as a bond trader in the early 1990s, eventually serving as head trader for Banco Santander and BBVA in Madrid. In 1998, he moved to New York as director of fixed income and rates derivatives at BBVA and later worked at Ahorro Corporación Gestión as director of multi-management & alternative investments.
Pardo has a degree in economics as well as a Master's degree in financial markets from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and a Master's degree in quantitative finances from the Escuela de Finanzas Aplicadas de Madrid. Fluent in English and Spanish, he has been a CFA charter holder since 2003.
The Investment Influencers series, which has most recently featured Jon Beckett of Scottish Widows, Kelly Prior and Paul Green of BMO Global Asset Management and Amanda Sillars of Jupiter Asset Management, offers insights into how key players in the asset management sector see the world of investing and expect to deal with such challenges as greater market volatility, increased regulation and a growing trend towards short-termism.
