"What on earth are you doing here?" I asked the chairman of the improbably-sized investment company Prandeamus Asset Management when I bumped into him at the social media conference I was chairing. "Trying not to think about the FCA's Asset Management Market Study," he sighed.

"What else?" "You could always be looking to learn about social media," I suggested. "Good one," laughed the chairman. "Nope - it just seemed as good a way as any to avoid all those awkward questions journalists like to ask on these occasions." "And yet here I am chairing this event," I said.
