The fund selection and fund research markets are a major part of the multi-trillion pound investment industry but who are the key players within it?
In the latest of our series of video interviews with the most respected individuals who select funds, decide ratings or otherwise influence the allocation of investor fund flows, we meet Nathan Sweeney, senior investment manager at Architas.
In that role, Sweeney manages the £800m Architas Multi-Asset Active range while his analyst responsibilities include research into UK fixed income funds. He joined Architas in 2010 from Thornhill, where he worked as a private client fund manager, with responsibility for managing private client portfolios and fund selection.
Sweeney, who has a BSc in Science and a Diploma in Financial Services and is IMC-qualified, began his 16-year investment career at AIB Investment Managers, where he was responsible for fund selection and launching and managing the AIB Multi-Manager Fund range.
The Investment Influencers series, which has most recently featured Simon Wood of Aberdeen, Ian Crispo of Deutsche Bank and Andrew Summers of Investec Wealth & Investment, offers insights into how key industry players see the world of investing and expect to deal with such challenges as greater market volatility, increased regulation and a growing trend towards short-termism.
