First up, guidance to support firms that want to provide simplified advice or sales without a recommendation has been published by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). The guidance has been issued following ongoing FCA policy work and the output from a thematic review into the growth of new advice models, including simplified advice. The regulator has been reviewing the ‘boundary' as part of the debate over simplified advice, as well as both industry and consumer body concern over where exactly the boundary sits.
