As CIO, global bonds for Franklin Templeton Fixed Income group, Michael Hasenstab is responsible for $185bn (£110bn) of AUM. For UK investors, Hasenstab's £23bn Global Bond SICAV and his £264m Global Total Return Bond OEIC represent his two most high-profile portfolios. Hasenstab has made headlines in recent years for his contrarian calls on a number of sovereign bond markets, such as Ireland, Hungary, and Ukraine - not least because the size of his positions means he often dominates those markets in which he invests.
