Opportunities for clients to obtain medical treatment abroad are increasing. Recent NHS pilot schemes and the relaxation in regulations to allow UK patients to go abroad have heightened publicity. Clients paying for their own care clearly have the option to go abroad. But demand in practice is questionable and, for many insurers, so is the need to offer treatment overseas.
