Engage Mutual names acting CEO Burrows as permanent chief

Friendly society Engage Mutual has appointed Peter Burrows as its chief executive.

Burrows, who joined the company as finance director in 2010, had been acting CEO since December when incumbent Andrew Haigh stood down. A decision was made following an extensive external selection process, Engage Mutual said. Burrows is a qualified chartered accountant with more than 20 years' business experience. He held a range of senior management roles at Aviva and worked for Ernst & Young in London and Leeds, where he advised financial services businesses on financial, risk management and governance matters.  Chairman David Robinson, who led the selection board, said: "David ...
