Harlequin administrator racks up fees of £28k in first ten days

The administrator of the sales arm of the troubled Harlequin Property group has racked up fees of more than £28,000 in its first ten days in the role.

Harlequin Management Services (South East) filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators at the High Court of Justice at the end of April and Shipleys took up the position on 3 May. In a letter to creditors, Shipleys said it has incurred time costs totalling £28,323.28, exclusive of VAT, in relation to advice and assistance given in obtaining the administration order. Charles Russell - which provided legal advice and assistance in preparing the appointment documentation - has produced a bill of £9,000 excluding VAT.
