Ex-BlackRock star Lyttleton arrested in market abuse probe

Mark Lyttleton, the former star fund manager at BlackRock, was arrested last month as part of the Financial Conduct Authority's (FCA's) investigations into market abuse, according to reports.

Lyttleton, who ran more than £1bn for the asset manager before leaving the company in March after 21 years, is understood to have been detained by City of London police on 30 April on suspicion of insider dealing, Sky News reports. A statement issued by BlackRock did not name Lyttleton but confirmed a former employee had been arrested as part of the FCA's probe. "On Tuesday 30 April an individual who previously worked at BlackRock was arrested by the City of London Police on suspicion of insider dealing," the statement read.
