MoJ to meet adviser over claims manager concerns

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) is meeting an IFA to hear his concerns over claims management companies (CMC) after he said they were unfairly targeting adviser firms.

The MoJ's claims management regulation unit is to meet with Adviser Alliance founder Alan Lakey. Lakey had written to secretary of state for justice Kenneth Clarke complaining the MoJ is failing to protect advisers from false CMC claims. Lakey, partner at Highclere Financial Services, filed a complaint with the MoJ in November 2011 against Devon-based claims manager EMC Advisory Services (EMCAS) which made a series of allegations about a Clerical Medical endowment policy. >>Read how one IFA is tackling bogus claims HERE<< Not content with the response from the MoJ over what he s...
