Aviva's UK Life CEO Strauss leaves for Lloyds

David Barral has been appointed chief executive of Aviva's UK Life business, replacing Toby Strauss as he leaves to join Lloyds Bank.

Barral will report to Aviva's UK chief executive Mark Hodges, and will also join the UK board and UK executive team. He was previously chief operating officer of Aviva UK Life, having first joined the group in 1999. Barral has 30 years financial services experience covering business development, distribution, marketing, customer service and operations. He replaces Strauss who is leaving Aviva after three years to take up a new role with Lloyds Banking Group.
